I had a '68 many years ago and have waited a long time for just the right new mustang.  With my 2001, the most unique change has been the grill, where I designed and build a mount to display a running pony and coral from a '68.  I like the way the 7 bar grill cleaned up the front end and then moved the fog lights down the boss lower fascia.  Really didn't like the contrasting lower ground trim in black, so we pulled off the rocker panels and replaced the front and back with CS/Boss parts - all painted to match the body color.  While we had the paint out, we also colored the license plate mount and new Weathertek frames.  Also couldn't resist adding a splitter - which then lead to a Curb Alert (just in case).  Obviously, the running pony/coral calls out the '68 look, so for the back we added 3/4" chrome "MUSTANG" letters along the trunk.  Like most, the car also has a Barton shifter and then a couple of weeks ago the engine got a Airaid cold air intake with a Tasca Tune.  I discovered a giant difference between a factory tune and a professional tune.  Still trying to decide on either Roush or Borla axle backs - kind of leaning toward the Borla's.  Now to enjoy the summer!
