1995 Boss Shinoda #001
Generation 2 Level 2
DMP-BOS-95-001
(First Ever Badged Boss Shinoda)
This Boss Shinoda has a Vortech S-trim Supercharger that makes 9 to 10 pounds of boost. It has been conservatively tuned with an custom Super Chip from DMP to run 92 octane and still makes 401 HP. It has Hooker Shorties, Off Road X Pipe and Flowmaster mufflers that lead to the Flowmaster 2.5” manderbent tail pipes. It also has 42 LB/HR injectors, Pro-m 70mm mass air meter, Crane HI-6S with Boost Retard ignition, In tank pump with a -8 braided line to Vortech fuel rails. It has a Tremec 3550, Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter, Centerforce dual friction clutch, and a Ford Motorsport aluminum drive shaft with a safty loop. The rear end is the stock 8.8 but has been upgraded with an 3:55 ring and pinion. The springs are Roush pieces that lowered the car 2”, and the shocks/struts are Bilstien on all for corners. The car has a 1” rear anti-roll bar produced by Roush, and Ford Motorsports subframe connectors to tie all this together. The rims are Boss 5-Spoke 18x9 in the front and 18 x 10.5 in the rear. Tires are BFG Comp T/A ZR. Gauges inside the car include: Ford Motorsport Boost, Water, Temp, and Oil Pressure. The Tach is an Auto Meter 5" with Shift Light
A recent Tune on 92 octane which included a new Aeromotive external pump, 42 lb injectors, and a Diablo Sport Chip produced 509 hp.
This particular Shinoda goes back to the very roots when Larry Shinoda first decided to produce a package on the SN95 body style. As with his previous and most notable work, the 1970 Boss and Corvette Stingray, Larry wanted a prominent looking package that would be rounded off with the owners choice of packages. The packages for the SN95 were as follows: the Generation 1 level 1, the Generation 2 level 1, and the Generation 2 level 2. Each package has a number of upgrades, however only one of them comes with a blown motor, the Generation 2 Level 2. This Boss, later knows as Boss #001 was one of very few that Larry himself ever worked on. Being the first badged Shinoda, it had a few options that no others did. It came with an blown 302, which also included Edelbrock Aluminum Heads, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, and a Motorsport B303 camshaft. The spoiler, both front and rear are one offs. To this day, they are the exact spoilers that Larry himself created. The rear spoiler has a few notable things worth mentioning. First, the two impressions within the spoiler, where designed by Larry as cup holders. The intent was that each could hold a Big Galp. Second, between the cup holders, and within the stripe, the Boss Shinoda graphic is faint but present.
The engine has recently gone though some changes, and has been balanced and blueprinted. Verses the risk of wrecking the original motor, a new 302 was bored .030 over and given a DSS 331 stoker kit. The engine still retains the Vortech supercharger, Edelbrock Aluminum Heads, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, Ford Motorsports B303 Camshaft and APR studs tying it all together.
The sound system includes a Pioneer deck with Alpine components in the front. The rear speakers consist of 2 alpine 6x9’s. The two subs are 10” Rockford Fosgate that are powered by a Rockford Fosgate 500x2. The custom enclosure was created by myself and my brother.
